Oya Health is a women-centered health and wellness organization founded by Dr. Razia Jayman-Aristide, dedicated to empowering women through education, coaching, and transformative learning experiences. The name Oya carries three powerful layers of meaning: in Sinhala (Singhalese), Oya means “you,” placing each woman—her needs, her health, and her voice—at the very center of the mission. In Sinhala, it also means “river,” symbolizing life, flow, and resilience, reflecting the natural rhythms and transitions women experience. In African mythology, Oya is the fierce warrior goddess of storms, transformation, and change—protector of women and bringer of new beginnings. At Oya Health, these meanings unite to embody the mission of uplifting women in every role they hold—caregivers, educators, mothers, daughters, and friends—helping them navigate life’s transitions with strength and purpose.
